How to setup

In this guide, we'll show you how to connect Webflow with Macaw allowing you to publish your articles to your blog in one click.

1) Generate a Webflow API key

Note: If you already have a Webflow API key you can skip this step.

Navigate to your Apps & Integration settings within your Webflow site settings and click Generate API token

Give your API token a name and select

  • CMS: Read and write

  • Sites: Read-only

Click Generate Token and copy your API token for the next step

2) Connect to Webflow

Head to your Publishing connections setup in Macaw and click Connect

Paste your Webflow API key from the previous step and click Confirm

Select your Site and Articles collection from the drop-downs

3) Map your fields to Webflow

Go through your Webflow CMS fields mapping the correct field from Macaw

Note: Certain common inputs such as Author are not provided by Macaw and require manual entry with a fixed value.

To manually set reference fields such as Author, you must find the Item ID of the Author you would like your to set within the Webflow CMS

Then simply just switch your Author field to Manual entry

And paste the selected Item ID in the input

Finally, click Connect at the top of the page
